Location
Chalet Sonnailles is located situated at a little over 1650m above the snowline on the Les Masses (30) piste. At the east of les 4 Vallées, Switzerland’s most expansive ski area, outside the small village of Les Masses and a short drive from the villages of Les Collons, Thyon and Veysonnaz. It is a 20-minute drive from Sion, the capital of Valais. To the south and west marvel at the stunning views of the Dent Blanche and Matterhorn peaks, as well as the Grande Dixence Dam. The concrete gravity dam, on the Dixence River is 285 m (935 ft) high, and is the tallest gravity dam in the world. The Valaisanne and Bernoises Alps protect the valley and the region enjoys a Mediterranean style climate with over 2,000 hours of sunshine annually.
